01 · Who this covers

This policy covers BarExam Complete only.

This Privacy Policy explains what barexamprepguide.com (“BarExam Complete,” “the site”) collects when you use it, why, and how to control it. The site is operated by AIXIS LLC, a Vermont limited liability company. Any third-party site linked from here, a bar-review provider, an official jurisdiction site, an NCBE resource, is not covered.

There is no account or sign-in on this site. Nothing below requires you to identify yourself unless you choose to: for example, by using the contact form.

02 · What is collected

Two kinds of data, both tied to your browser, not your identity.

A first-party session cookie (bar_complete_session) is set the first time you use any saved-progress tool. A randomly generated identifier is all it holds, not your name, email, or any personal detail, and it's marked HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax, meaning page scripts can't read it and it can't be sent to any other site.

Study-progress data tied to that identifier is stored in a Cloudflare database: your selected jurisdiction, target exam date, study track, completed checklist tasks, diagnostic score, and questions answered. That's what lets your dashboard at /study reload the same state on your next visit from the same browser.

Browser local storage is used independently by each practice tool: flashcards, the application workbook, the essay bank, the integrated-task bank, the error log, the MPRE course, and others. Data there stays on your device and is never transmitted to the site, unless a tool explicitly says otherwise (the study dashboard's backup/restore feature moves a copy through your own browser only, at your request).

Contact form submissions: if you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you type are sent by email to the site's operator. None of it is written to any database. The email itself is the only copy kept.

  • Session cookie: random ID only, no personal data
  • Study progress: jurisdiction, exam date, track, tasks, scores
  • Local storage: per-tool state, stays on your device
  • Contact form: name, email, message you choose to send
03 · What is not collected

No accounts, no payments, no tracking.

This site runs no analytics service, advertising pixel, social-media tracker, or third-party marketing script of any kind: there is nothing on the site designed to follow you across the web or build an advertising profile. It processes no payments and stores no financial information; nothing is sold on this site. No login exists here, so there is no password, security question, or account-recovery data to protect or lose.

  • No analytics or advertising trackers
  • No payment or financial data
  • No account, password, or login system
  • No data sold or shared with advertisers
04 · How it's used

Exactly two purposes: restoring your progress, and answering you.

Session and progress data exist solely so the study tools remember where you left off on the same browser. Contact-form data exists solely so the site can read and reply to what you sent. Neither is used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the one it was collected for.

05 · Third parties

One infrastructure provider. No data brokers.

The site runs entirely on Cloudflare (Workers, its D1 database, and its email-sending service): Cloudflare processes the data described above as the site's hosting and infrastructure provider, under its own privacy policy, and does not use it for its own purposes.

No data described on this page is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.

06 · Cookies

One cookie. Functional only.

`bar_complete_session` is the only cookie this site sets. Strictly functional is what it is, it exists to reload your saved study progress, not to track you, so no cookie-consent banner is shown; U.S. law does not require one for a first-party functional cookie like this. Up to one year is how long it lasts, or until you clear your browser's cookies, whichever comes first.

Clearing your cookies (or using a private/incognito window) resets your saved progress on this site the same way it would on any other; nothing is lost anywhere else because nothing here is tied to you personally.

07 · Retention and deletion

Kept until you clear it or ask.

Study-progress data tied to your session cookie is kept until you clear the cookie or request deletion. To request that your stored progress be located and deleted, use the contact form and mention the request: no account credentials are needed since none exist; describing when you last used the site is enough context to locate the record.

Contact-form emails are kept as ordinary correspondence for as long as any other business email would be.

08 · Children's privacy

Not directed at children under 13.

This site is a bar-exam and legal-admission preparation resource intended for law students and licensed-admission candidates. It is not directed at children under 13, and the site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through the contact form, contact the site to have it removed.

09 · Security

HTTPS everywhere, minimal data by design.

The site is served entirely over HTTPS. The session cookie is set with the Secure and HttpOnly flags, meaning it is never sent over an unencrypted connection and is never readable by page-level JavaScript. The practical security posture here rests on collecting very little in the first place: no passwords, no payment details, and no government or financial identifiers are ever requested or stored.

10 · Your choices

You can see, correct, or clear what's stored: just ask.

Because nothing here is tied to a real-world identity, most access requests are handled the same simple way: contact the site through the /contact form, describe what you're asking about (your saved study progress, a message you sent, etc.), and it will be located, shown, corrected, or deleted as requested. The process doesn't change based on which state, country, or specific privacy law you'd cite.

11 · Changes to this policy

Dated at the top, updated when the site's practices change.

If what this site collects or how it's used changes, this page will be updated and the review date at the top of the page will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you've seen the current version. There is no separate notification list, since the site collects no email address to notify you at unless you've written in.
