Bar Exam Application Workbook

Turn every rule into written analysis.

The bar exam application workbook turns each doctrinal module into a mini-hypothetical you answer in writing. Work through the complete doctrinal curriculum one mini-hypothetical at a time. The model stays hidden until you submit; completed applications are saved on this device. Every one of the 213 modules has its own original hypothetical here, written for that specific rule rather than pulled from a generic bank of unrelated fact patterns. The model analysis stays hidden until you submit your own answer, so you write a real application under the same uncertainty an exam question creates, instead of reading the model first and mistaking recognition for the ability to produce it. Completed applications save on this device, so you can come back and compare an earlier attempt on the same module against a later one to see whether the application actually improved.

ANALYZE

A patient sues a drug manufacturer under state negligence law and alleges that violation of a federal labeling rule proves breach. The federal statute creates no private action.

Do not reveal yet. Your response should:1. Is federal law an element of the claim?2. Is the issue substantial to the federal system, not merely important to the parties?3. Would federal jurisdiction upset the congressionally approved division of labor?

Why a hidden model

Bar exam application workbook: reading a model answer is not the same as producing one.

It is easy to read a sample analysis and feel like you already understood the issue. Writing your own analysis first, before the model is revealed, exposes whether you can actually spot the issue, select the governing rule, and apply it to the facts under the same blind conditions the exam creates. A workable routine is ten minutes per module: four to write your application, two to reveal the model and compare the issue list, and four to rewrite your weakest paragraph with the facts the model used.

One issue at a time

Each mini-hypothetical isolates a single rule or narrow rule cluster, so a miss points to a specific gap instead of a vague sense of unpreparedness.

Write before you look

The model stays hidden until you submit your own analysis, preserving the same blind-application demand as a real essay question.

Compare structurally

Check issue identification, rule statement, fact use, and counteranalysis separately: a strong rule statement with no fact application is a different problem than a missed issue.
