Use a fourteen-day cycle
Do not convert raw practice into a pass prediction
MBE scores are scaled and the legacy UBE combines written and multiple-choice components. Jurisdictions set the passing UBE score. A practice percentage is useful trend data only when the question source, difficulty, timing, and conditions are known.
What a short push can and cannot change
Two weeks is enough to change how you spend 200 questions, not to relearn seven subjects. The MBE is 200 multiple-choice questions over six hours, which is 1.8 minutes a question, and it covers Contracts, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, Real Property, Torts and Civil Procedure. Its weight in the total depends on the state: 50% in Georgia, Illinois and Kentucky and 40% in Virginia.
Because states scale scores, a raw improvement shows up only through the scaling. Use the last two weeks to stabilize timing, review missed-question reasons, and protect the sessions that carry the most weight for your state.
Check the state before optimizing
A candidate in a state that accepts a transferred MBE score has extra options that others do not. Alabama accepts a 140 or higher for 36 months and Minnesota 145 or higher for 36 months, but a score earned in Illinois, Georgia, Kentucky or Montana cannot be banked for a later attempt. A last-two-weeks plan for a retaker in one of those states has to aim at the whole exam.
If the state has changed its exam date or version, confirm it now. Guam and Connecticut began NextGen with July 2026, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and West Virginia start it in July 2028, and Virginia says NCBE will discontinue the MBE after February 2028.

Common questions
Can I really raise my MBE score in two weeks?+
You can change your pacing and your review habits. The exam is 200 questions in six hours, so timing at 1.8 minutes per question is one thing a short push can fix.
What should I do first in the last two weeks?+
Confirm your state's weights and exam version, then use timed sets to check pace. The MBE is 50% of the total in Georgia, Illinois and Kentucky, so it matters more there.
Does the MBE count the same in every state?+
No. It is 50% of the total in Georgia, Illinois and Kentucky and 40% in Virginia's combined score.
Which subjects does the MBE cover?+
Seven subjects: Contracts, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, Real Property, Torts and Civil Procedure, as Indiana's Board lists them for the 200-question exam.
Can I bank a good MBE score if I fail the essays?+
Only in some states. Alabama carries forward a 140 or higher for 36 months, but Illinois, Georgia, Kentucky and Montana do not let you bank it.
Should I worry that scaling changes my raw score?+
Raw counts do not compare across administrations because NCBE scales the MBE. Focus on consistent accuracy and timing.
Is a two-week plan different for retakers?+
Often. A retaker in Illinois must take the whole exam again, so the plan covers all three parts, while an Alabama retaker with a 140 or higher on one half may skip that half within 36 months.
What if my state is changing exam versions?+
Check its board's announcement. Guam and Connecticut started NextGen with July 2026, and Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and West Virginia start it in July 2028.
