Add-ons and extras
Premium buyers can add AdaptiBar and other tools. BARBRI's AdaptiBar page listed the MCQ Simulator at $495, the Writing Guide at $295 and video lectures at $395 (or $295 with the simulator). A 6-month access upgrade and coach-led strategy sessions are sold on the pricing page, and the current prices for those change, so check them on the page.
Other BARBRI products
BARBRI's Extended U.S. Bar Prep, for LL.M. students, part-time J.D. students and foreign-trained lawyers, comes in 6 or 10 month versions with a one-on-one attorney mentor, and its retake terms carry a $295 book fee. Its price is on a separate page. BARBRI's separate UK SQE courses are a different product for a different exam.
The costs around the course
Exam fees, laptop or software fees, character and fitness fees, the MPRE ($185 for 2026 and 2027 administrations) and living costs are outside any course price. For example, BARBRI's state pages listed a $878 California application plus a $900 moral character application, a $600 Florida application and a $250 New York application. Add them all before comparing courses.
How to pay less
Ask your law school whether it has a BARBRI partnership (many post discounts in student services), check for a sale price before enrolling, and ask about firm or employer sponsorship. Compare against Themis, whose page listed $2,995 with a $1,895 limited-time price, and AmeriBar from $1,299. Cheaper is only better if it covers your jurisdiction and fits how you study.
What a retake costs
If you do not pass, BARBRI's guarantee lists one free Premium retake in the same jurisdiction, with conditions. Supplements are not included. So the retake saves tuition, not everything.
